How to post for identification:
To get the best help identifying something:
✅ Photo, sound or description
✅ Include details:
- Location (country/region)
- Habitat (woodland, meadow, rocky, wetland, coastal, inland, etc)
- Time of year
- Size estimate
- Behavior (for animals)
- Any sounds
Community guidelines:
✅ Celebrate ALL observations—from "boring" pigeons to rare sightings
✅ Be patient with learning—we're all at different levels
✅ Share knowledge generously
✅ Correct gently if someone misidentifies
✅ Include indigenous/traditional names when known
✅ Respect protected species—don't share exact locations of rare finds
✅ Wildlife welfare over photo opportunities
❌ Never disturb nests, dens, or vulnerable species
❌ Don't pick/damage plants unless you're 100% certain it's ethical
❌ Never encourage feeding wild animals
❌ Don't shame people for not knowing, this is a learning space
